| Vineyards Of France |

Everyone knows and loves French wine, but everyone knows that there is a thriving tourist industry built around the country's most famous export. You can drive, walk, cycle or ride through wine country. You can visit diverse and picturesque wine villages, caves and châteaux and of course taste and buy the product. Each wine region has its own unique style and scenery and the circuits that lead through them are an invitation to a voyage of discovery.
A few holiday ideas for discovering these regions:

Hiking through the "Balcons de la Marne" Take a break outside the gates of Paris, in the middle of the first slopes of the Champagne region. You can reach the start of the hike by train or car before setting off to the Marne valley.
Saint Emilion vineyards in the company of Bacchus Take a two-day break in a "Bacchus" guest house in the heart of the wine-producing region. The programme includes: a guided tour of the mediaeval town, the underground monuments and the vineyards of Saint Emilion, a trip on the tourist train, a visit to a wine-producing château, an introduction to wine-tasting and a visit to the Ecomusée de Montagne.

Hiking through the vineyards and cellars of the Eastern Pyrenees The hike (5 days' hiking, alone or with a guide) is accessible to anyone with a good standard of physical fitness. Meet wine-producers for tasting sessions and discover a new locality and a new A.O.C. vintage every day in a land suffused with history.
